Can my smartwatch display notifications from my phone ?Updated a month ago

📳 What notifications can my smartwatch display?

Which notifications are supported?

Your ICE Smart or ICE Fit watch can display notifications from:

  • Incoming calls
  • SMS and messaging apps (WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, etc.)
  • Social media apps (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
  • Email apps
  • Any app that sends notifications on your phone
⚠️ The watch displays notifications only — you cannot reply to messages directly from the watch (except on ICE Fit with quick reply on Android).

How do I enable notifications?

  1. Make sure the watch is connected via Bluetooth.
  2. Open the ICE Smart app → go to Notifications settings.
  3. Enable the apps you want to receive alerts from.
  4. On your phone, make sure the ICE Smart app is allowed to send and access notifications (see platform-specific steps below).

🤖 Android — notification setup

Notifications are not appearing on my watch (Android)

  1. Go to Settings → Apps → ICE Smart → Permissions → grant all permissions (notifications, contacts, phone, location).
  2. Go to Settings → Battery → find ICE Smart → disable battery optimisation for the app (this is the most common cause of missing notifications on Android).
  3. Go to Settings → Notifications → ICE Smart → set to "Allow all".
  4. Re-pair the watch and test.
💡 On Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei and other Android manufacturers with aggressive battery management, notifications will stop appearing if the ICE Smart app is restricted in the background. Always disable battery optimisation for the app.

🍎 iPhone — notification setup

Notifications are not appearing on my watch (iPhone)

  1. Go to iPhone Settings → Notifications → ICE Smart → make sure "Allow Notifications" is enabled.
  2. Go to iPhone Settings → Bluetooth → confirm the watch is listed and connected.
  3. Go to iPhone Settings → Privacy → Motion & Fitness → make sure ICE Smart is enabled.
  4. Re-pair the watch and test.

I receive call and app notifications but not SMS or iMessages (iPhone)

This is a known limitation on iPhone. Apple restricts third-party apps from accessing the native Messages app and iMessage directly.

What works on iPhone: WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, Gmail, and most third-party messaging apps.

What does not work reliably on iPhone: Native SMS (green bubbles) and iMessage (blue bubbles) — these are not accessible to third-party apps due to iOS restrictions.

💡 If SMS/iMessage notifications are essential to you, consider using a third-party messaging app (WhatsApp, Telegram) as your primary messaging tool — these will display correctly on the watch.

🔄 Notifications stopped working after they were working before

What should I do if notifications suddenly stop?

  1. Check that the watch is still connected via Bluetooth — open the app and verify.
  2. Re-check all notification permissions in your phone settings (see steps above for your platform).
  3. Close the ICE Smart app completely (including removing it from background apps) and reopen it.
  4. If the issue persists: remove the watch from the app, forget it in Bluetooth settings, perform a Factory Reset on the watch, and re-pair.
