Bluetooth: my watch won't connectUpdated 6 days ago

🔗 Basic checks

Before anything else: run through this checklist

CheckWhat to do
📱 Phone compatibilityDepends on the model: Android 5.1+ / iOS 9.0+ for most ICE smart models, Android 6.0+ / iOS 9.0+ for ICE fit, Android 7.0+ / iOS 12.0+ for ICE smart junior, Android 8.0+ / iOS 10.0+ for ICE smart mimi, ICE smart SP 2.0, ICE smart forever and ICE smart band
📲 App versionMake sure you have the latest version of your ICE app (ICE Smart, ICE fit, ICE JUNIOR or ICE BAND)
🔵 BluetoothTurn Bluetooth off and back on on your phone
🔋 Watch batteryMake sure the watch has enough charge (at least 20%)
📡 EnvironmentTry pairing in an open space: walls, Wi-Fi routers and other Bluetooth devices can interfere

🔄 Full reset procedure

How do I completely reset the Bluetooth connection?

  1. Open your ICE app (ICE Smart, ICE fit, ICE JUNIOR or ICE BAND) and remove the watch from the device list.
  2. On your phone, go to Bluetooth settings → find the watch in the paired devices list → tap "Forget this device".
  3. On the watch, go to Settings → Factory Reset and confirm.
  4. Once the watch has restarted, re-pair it through the ICE app (not from your phone's Bluetooth settings) by following the on-screen instructions.
  5. When your phone shows the Bluetooth pairing request, accept it.
💡 After the reset, keep the watch and phone within 30 cm of each other during pairing.

How do I check that the connection is complete?

Swipe down on the watch screen and check that the call icon and the connection icon are both green. If they are, the watch is properly connected.

👧 ICE smart junior: these watches have no call function. Just check that the connection icon is green.
💡 If one of the icons is not green, pairing is not complete: repeat the procedure and make sure you accept the Bluetooth pairing request.

🤖 Android-specific steps

The watch connected once but keeps disconnecting or won't reconnect

  1. Go to Settings → Apps → your ICE app → Permissions and grant all permissions (notifications, contacts, phone, location).
  2. Go to Settings → Battery → find your ICE app → disable any battery optimisation or background restriction.
  3. Go to Settings → Notifications → your ICE app → set to "Allow all".
  4. Re-pair the watch and test.
⚠️ On some Android brands (Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei), aggressive battery management can prevent the app from running in the background. Always disable battery optimisation for your ICE app.

Pairing fails or the watch doesn't appear in the app

  1. Uninstall your ICE app completely.
  2. Restart your phone.
  3. Reinstall the app from the Google Play Store.
  4. On first launch, accept all requested permissions.
  5. Perform the full reset procedure above before re-pairing.

🍎 iPhone-specific steps

The watch won't pair or stay connected with my iPhone

  1. Go to iPhone Settings → Notifications → your ICE app → make sure "Allow Notifications" is enabled.
  2. Go to Settings → Bluetooth → check that the watch is listed and connected.
  3. Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness → make sure your ICE app is enabled.
  4. If the watch appears in Bluetooth but won't connect: tap the (i) next to the watch → "Forget this device" → re-pair via the app.
💡 On iPhone, always pair the watch through your ICE app, not directly through the iPhone's Bluetooth settings.

The watch worked fine but stopped after an iOS update

  1. Perform the full reset procedure above.
  2. After the reset, grant all permissions to your ICE app again in iPhone Settings.
  3. Re-pair the watch.
